Seattle United 2017 Used Uniform Drive
As our new uniforms (game kits for girls; training kits for boys) are now rolling-out, the club has several players who have asked to take a lead in collecting used uniforms this summer.
Last year, Seattle United organized a uniform drive to expand our global reach to The Gambia. Seattle United coach Ebrima Jatta, aka “EJ”, born and raised in the rural coastal village of Brufut, The Gambia, West Africa, delivered and distributed hundreds of donated SU uniforms and cleats earlier this year, the capstone to a wonderfully organized and executed uniform campaign.
This summer we would like to collect uniforms and cleats for the Faagros Academy, in Livingstone, Zambia, and to an all-girls soccer academy in South Africa, two organizations the club has long-standing relationships with.
Hayden Barnouw (B00 Copa), Gigi Gallaudet (G99 Copa), Oscar Harding (B00 Copa), Riley Long (B99 Copa), and Ellie Schober (G99 Copa) are going to coordinate with self-assigned team volunteers to organize and collect your team’s used gear contribution. Team parents, please help identify a player or two on your roster to take on this role (great way for high school kids to earn community service hours!) in order to help make this campaign a success.
The club will be reaching out to team managers with details shortly. Thank you for your support!
