In April, the Seattle United B06 USSDA teams traveled to Spain with generation adidas! The boys had 4 trainings with Real Madrid coaching staff at the Real Madrid training facility, including a tour of the facility. They also toured Spain’s National Team’s training facility and museum, as well as Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. DA1 and DA2 each played three friendlies against Spanish area teams and went a very respectable 3-1-2. Opponents included Leganes, FPA Las Rozas, Rayo Vallecano, Toledo CF and Sporting Madrid CF. In addition to playing great soccer, the boys also saw great soccer. They were fortunate enough to see one of the greatest upset in Champions League history, watching Ronaldo dash Juventus’s hopes, drilling a PK in the 93rd minute in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. They also caught a La Liga game, Leganes vs Celta Viga. Two remarkable games, and two very different game experiences. The boys also had the opportunity to explore Segovia, Toledo and Madrid. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and what a week it was! A huge thank you to generation adidas for putting together such a well-rounded itinerary.
