A soccer club might be born in the boardroom, but its history – its memories – are made outside, on the playing field and, in Seattle United’s case, in the community.
Each year, the club gathers on the first Saturday in February for our annual Gala and live auction. This special evening provides our members and guests a chance to gather and celebrate the Seattle United community, while raising funds for our financial aid program. This past year has been like none other, due to the pandemic and the ensuing limitations on participation. Our community has responded in ways that has shown that we are strong, we are resilient, and we remain United. There is truly much to celebrate on February 6, 2021!
Together with the player-driven ‘United for Aid’, the funds raised at the Gala allow Seattle United to provide financial support to our families in need, and to ‘level the playing field’ for those players. We understand that their participation on our teams and in our community enriches the Seattle Untied experience for us all. The generosity of our community has allowed our club to award over $1.7 Million in aid since 2010. We anticipate that due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on some of our families’ financial security, the need for aid at Seattle United will be even greater in 2021 as the community recovers. Please join us ‘virtually’ on February 6 to ensure that no player is left off the field next season!
