Seattle United Alumni Battle in NCAA Elite 8 Match This Weekend
The University of Washington Men’s Soccer team (including 3 Seattle United Alumni: Charlie Ostrem, Christian Soto and Gabe Threadgold) will play Seattle United Alum Paul Rothrock and the rest of the Georgetown University Men’s Soccer team this weekend.
The Huskies (17-3-0) cruised pasted No. 11 Marshall 4-1 to reach NCAA Quarterfinals. The Quarterfinals match is at Georgetown this coming Saturday, December 7, and is slated for a Noon ET start (9:00 AM PT). It is just the second time the Huskies have reached the NCAA Quarterfinal in program history!
The No. 3 Georgetown University Men’s Soccer team (17-1-3) avenged its only loss of the season with a 5-1 victory over the University of Louisville Cardinals in the NCAA Tournament Third Round Sunday afternoon at Shaw Field. 2 of their 5 goals were scored by Seattle United alum, Paul Rothrock!
The winner of Saturday’s match advances to the College Cup in Cary, N.C., Dec. 13-15.
