Seattle United would like to welcome Eastside FC to the ECNL and Crossfire as “All In” ECNL members.
Earlier this month Crossfire Premier announced that they are leaving the girls DA program and moving forward as an “All In” member of the ECNL (Elite Clubs National League). Eastside FC announced that it is leaving the girls DA and joining the ECNL as a stand-alone club. This only re-affirms Seattle United’s choice to pull away from the DA this season to build our own club ECNL program. These clubs have made the choice as they believe that the ECNL is the best pathway for elite girls soccer players looking to play at the highest youth level and prepare for college soccer.
Seattle United Girls Director, Rich Reece, exclaims “Seattle United is excited to welcome Eastside FC to the ECNL and Crossfire as “All In” members of the ECNL. We believe that this is testament to the strength and pathway of the ECNL. Seattle United has enjoyed a fantastic first year in the ECNL and we are excited to see the conference and league grow, we have had the high school age teams travel to SC, FL and TX for national events and our two youngest ECNL teams play in CA. All in all the teams have been watched by over 500 college coaches and this has highlighted the relevance to SU that the gateway to college soccer is best provided by the ECNL. We look forward to our in-state rivalries in the ECNL along with supporting both clubs on the decision to be ECNL only clubs moving forward on the girls side of their programs.”
Kayla Haggerty who played last season in the DA and then returned to SU this season to participate in the ECNL stated that, “Seattle United and ECNL are two well organized programs that have provided me a fun and competitive environment this year. Gotta Love SU!!”
Another player who has decided to choose Seattle United and play in the ECNL is Tyler Jaine, who also previously served her youth career under the Seattle United umbrella before going to the DA only to return to SU for the ECNL program and what it offers. Tyler said, “My experience has been 100% positive in the ECNL with SU. I love the consistency in coaching and I know what my coach wants every player to do. Also, I know our games (and some trainings) will be scouted by great schools and give us the best possible opportunities at playing soccer in college. It’s great that our coach works individually on making every player better, and overall, it’s a really great experience.”
Tyler is referring to the Houston national event where the SU ECNL program had approximately 300 college coaches attend their games over 3 days of competition.
